Improving the lives of cocoa farmers means protecting the environment where cocoa is produced and improving farmers’ livelihoods. Cocoa For A Better Life aims to enhance its members’ social capacity and resilience through various initiatives such as the Cocoa Abrabopa Pension Scheme (CAPS), Child Labour Monitoring and Remediation System (CLMRS), and the Gender equality programme.
Smallholder cocoa farmers live in rural communities, where they face numerous challenges such as a lack of education, gender inequality, child labour, unhygienic living conditions, and an unsafe workplace. As a farmer-based organisation we have power in numbers, which we harness to develop useful services to improve these conditions.
